Marine Energy Pembrokeshire Working Group
The Working Group comprises private, public and third sector individuals and organisations who are committed to working together, and can contribute to, the achievement of its aim to develop Pembrokeshire as a centre of excellence in this field. Members of the Group are self-nominated according to their knowledge, influence, skills and enthusiasm to progress this agenda in Pembrokeshire and their willingness to work together collectively for the benefit of all.
Initial Working Group membership includes members from Welsh Government, The Marine Energy Task Group for Wales, Pembrokeshire County Council, Countryside Council for Wales, Milford Haven Port Authority, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, Tidal Energy Limited, E-ON, Marine Energy Limited, Wave Dragon, Far Offshore Renewables and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum. The Working Group were recently involved in the Pembrokeshire Marine Renewable Energy Industry Seminar where videos and presentations are available from the seminar tab.
The Vision
A thriving and diverse sustainable marine energy industry, operating within the carrying capacity of the area and making a significant contribution to a low carbon economy. The benefits of this industry are felt throughout the entire supply chain from R & D through to engineering, manufacturing, installation, operations and maintenance and a broad range of green jobs make Pembrokeshire a great place to live work and thrive.

Recent News
The MEP working group were recently joined by the Minister for Environment Sustainability & Housing, Jane Davidson AM. The minister was given short presentations from members of group before joining in on discussions about Marine Energy and the great potential for Pembrokeshire. Jane Davidson officially launched the MEP website at the end of the meeting. HRH PRINCE CHARLES visited the MEP stand at a recent event showing an interest in the group and marine energy in Pembrokeshire. Please see the News section for more details.
