Collaboration

A strong collaborative network has been established in Pembrokeshire and partnership working is common practice.  These links were formalised with the establishment of the Concordat (commitment to integrated working in the maritime environment across all statutory bodies) in 2000 and more recently with the creation of Pembrokeshire Coast and Maritime Network in 2006.

Additionally the Pembrokeshire Marine Special Area of Conservation Relevant Authorities Group has a vital role to play in assessing maritime proposals and their potential impact on SAC features. Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum who provide the secretariat for Marine Energy Pembrokeshire have been involved in Integrated Coastal Zone Management in Pembrokeshire since 2000. They have experience in organising events and public displays and have worked with E.ON/Lunar Energy and TEL in the past.

Building on the collaboration and integrated working already in place the MEP Working Group will take this ethos and apply it to the marine renewables agenda. Members of the group are self-nominated according to their knowledge, influence, skills and enthusiasm to progress this agenda in Pembrokeshire and their willingness to work together collectively for the benefit of all.
